Remembering an Angel:
Bryan Woodard

by Kevin Caruso

Bryan Woodard (BJ) was an intelligent, sensitive, caring, hardworking, funny, and handsome young man who deeply loved his family and friends.

Bryan was born in Henderson, Kentucky and had a zest for life from the time he was young.

BJ was an avid Boy Scout and enjoyed participating in scouting events. His favorite event was the pinewood derby contest. And he not only built his own car but was one of the top racers, earning a large trophy for his work!

BJ also loved to play soccer.

As an adult, BJ loved to watch movies, read books, take walks, and spend time with his family.

BJ had great love for his family and he particularly enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. He loved to play T-ball with them, or just run and play all day! “BJ’s nieces and nephews were his world,” said Caolyn Wilkinson, BJ’s mom.

BJ also loved family outings and relished the time that he had with his loved ones.

And BJ was a very giving person, always sensitive to the needs of others. If anyone in the family was hurting, BJ would be by their side. “He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it,” said his mother.

And BJ loved to laugh and play jokes on his friends and family members. He was a very funny person and his wonderful sense of humor brought great joy to everyone who knew him.

But BJ developed some drug and alcohol problems that strongly impacted his life. He also became deeply depressed, and the depression coupled with his substance abuse caused BJ to die by suicide.

He passed away at age 27.

BJ is deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his mother, Carolyn; his sisters, Abbey, Emily, and Meagan; his neice, Maddie; his nephews, Jaxton and Bowen; and his cousins, Randy and Ben.

He is also greaty missed by his close friends, Nick, Clint, Marvin, and Randy.

Carolyn, BJ's mother, made the following statement in honor of him: "I was there when he took his first breath and came into this world, and I was there when he took his last breath and God called him home. I love you BJ."

And Meagan, BJ's sister, said the following: "I loved BJ so much. He was my only brother and he will never be forgotten. He is in my mind, heart, and soul forever."

Bryan Woodard is now one of the greatest angels in Heaven.

We miss him.

We love him.

We honor him.

And we will never forget him.
