- Twenty-five percent of women will develop depression at least once in their lives.
- An estimated 15 million Americans suffer from depression.
- About 15 percent of the population will suffer from depression at least once in their lifetime.
- Less that half of all Americans believe that depression is a health problem.
- Many people erroneously believe that people can "snap out" of depression.
- Many people erroneously believe that people with depression are weak.
- Many people are extremely ignorant about depression.
- Many of these ignorant people stigmatize people with depression.
- Because of the social stigma associated with depression, many people who have depression do not get help.
- Depression is highly treatable.
- The vast majority of people with depression who receive treatment get better.
- Many treatment options exist for depression.

a therapist so you may be assessed.
