Man Attempts Suicide by Jumping
in Front of Train, Survives Uninjured

by Kevin Caruso

August 29, 2004

A 56-year-old man who is suffering from clinical depression jumped in front of an oncoming train near Tokyo, Japan, and laid face-down on the tracks in a suicide attempt.

Miraculously, the man was barely touched by the train, and he was left with only minor abrasions.

"I wanted to die," said the man, whose name is not being released.

He was taken to a hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Untreated depression is the number one cause for suicide.

People die by suicide because they want to end their pain, and depression causes intense emotional pain.

Untreated depression always needs to be considered urgent.

And again, untreated depression is the number one cause for suicide.

If you think that you may be suffering from depression, please make appointments with a medical doctor and a therapist so you may be assessed and receive treatment.

If you or someone you know is suicidal, please go to the Home Page of this website for immediate help.

Thank you.

I love you.

Take care,

Kevin Caruso
